Two years ago renowned performer and magician David Copperfield was dragged through the tabloids after allegations of sexual assault on a young aspiring model surfaced. Copperfield said that he felt ‘forced’ to make a public statement addressing the allegations, even though he had hoped to avoid doing so, but the filing of the lawsuit left him with no choice. He further claims that these allegations are hurting the real victims of assault by making a mockery of them as this lawsuit is clearly an ‘extortion for money, plain and simple’.

Criminal charges have yet to be laid as the US Attorney’s office is still deliberating whether they are necessary.
